Adobe updates video editing apps
Adobe releases updated image editing apps
Adobe has announced a range of updates and new apps at its MAX Convention. Lightroom has been split into two apps, with the “Classic” version being an updated version of the existing app, and the “CC” being cloud native app that currently has less editing ability, but syncs across devices. Photoshop CC now has deeper integration into a Lightroom based workflow.
Adobe releases Photoshop and Premiere Elements 2018
Adobe has announced new versions of its Photoshop and Premiere Elements apps. Both apps utilize the Elements Organizer to automatically catalog and sort image files. they also offer a wide range of guided or automatic edits that allows users to automatically swap backgrounds, create double exposures, freeze frames and fix action cam footage.
Adobe previews new Photoshop features
Adobe frequently releases a few “Sneak Peaks” of new technology that will be incorporated into future version of their Creative Cloud apps. In this instance, they have posted video of a Curvature Pen Tool that will be featured in Photoshop CC. This makes “path creation easier and more intuitive in Photoshop CC by enabling you to create paths more quickly and precisely.” Adobe add that this is one of many new features coming to Photoshop CC during 2017.
Adobe releases significant Lightroom Mobile updates
Adobe has released a significant feature upgrade to Lightroom Mobile for iOS and Android. In the case of the former, there is a new selective brush, a details tab and an improved interface for iPad. Android users will experience a new interface that is faster, more efficient and Android specific.
Adobe releases updates to CC video apps
Prior to the 2017 NAB Show, Adobe has announced a series of updates to its CC video apps. Premiere Pro, Media Encoder, After Effects and Audition all benefit from workflow and feature enhancements. The updates are free to Creative Cloud subscribers via the CC update mechanism or from the CC website.
Adobe offers Keywording Tutorials
Adobe’s Lightroom Coffee Break’s latest episode is entitled “Using Keyword Sets.” In it, Adobe’s Benjamin Warde explains why Keyword Sets are limited to 9 keywords. In doing so, he reveals a tip that may well make key wording faster. In addition, Julieanne Kost offers more suggestion for speeding up keywording workflow.
Quick Tutorial: Adding Keywords with Less Hassle
This week’s Lightroom Coffee Break is entitled “Adding Keywords with Less Hassle” and offers a simple technique that saves a lot of time when keyboarding images in the program. Simply, once you have entered a keyword into the window, pressing the Command (Control) key acts as a modifier that then moves the selection directly on to the next image.
Adobe updates Lightroom family
Adobe announced a series of updates to Lightroom CC/6, Lightroom Mobile and Camera Raw. Lightroom CC 2015.8/6.8 adds a new reference view (to CC only), fit/fill improvements for high resolution displays, performance enhancements and additional camera and lens support. Lightroom mobile for iOS 2.6 adds a new editing display, an info section allowing the addition of titles and captions and a new capture interface with manual camera controls. Camera RAW has been updated to version 9.8 and adds camera and lens support.
