Sea & Sea announces housing for SONY RX100 models

Sea & Sea has announced the release of their aluminum housing for the Sony RX100 versions 1 or 2. The MDX-RX100/II is supplied with a bumper pad kit that allows it to be used with either version of the camera. It also features a flash deactivation lever, a multi pad controller and a control ring for the camera’s front command dial.

MDX-RX100/II Underwater Housing

The MDX-RX100/II underwater housing maintains SEA&SEA’s established success as the leading manufacturer of underwater housings by capitalizing on all features of the RX100 and RX100 II. Featuring a built-in flash deactivation lever and exposure compensation, this housing provides the underwater photographer with a higher level of management and adaptability over each shot. The MDX-RX100/II underwater housing will also accept SEA&SEA’s unique leak sensor that can be built into the housing that notifies the diver of the slightest leak via a light signal. In addition, the housing is constructed with a multi-point controller at the rear of the housing as well as a manual focus control ring at the front of the housing allowing for full use of the camera’s functions. Assessing each protective detail, sacrificial zinc diodes are offered to prevent electrolysis damage.

The MDX-RX100/II underwater housing also includes a bumper pad kit that allows for either the RX100 and RX100 II to securely fit within the housing. It has a fixed M10 ball base on the side of the housing that allows the Sea Arm 8 components to be attached for a simple arm/strobe combination. In addition, the housing provides a cold shoe for mounting a video light. Including a multi-platform tripod mount, the MDX-RX100/II underwater housing offers convenient variability. Providing rugged protection, the MDX-RX100/II is machined from solid block, corrosion-resistant aluminum alloy and then galvanized for corrosion resistance. All edges are carefully polished to ensure it can survive even the harshest conditions. With a depth rating of 100m / 330ft, this housing is ideal for tech as well as all recreational diving.

The M67-M62 Step Down Ring is compatible for the MDX-RX100/II underwater housing threaded port and, subsequently, accessory lenses including the M67 Wide-angle Conversion Lens 0.6x and the Close-UP Lens 125.

The Sea Arm 8 is compatible with the MDX-RX100/II underwater housing. Using the latest structural analysis software, the Sea Arm 8 was meticulously machined from solid block aluminum providing lightweight durability. The ergonomically designed clamp allows for structural integrity while also allowing for easy manipulation.
