Wetpixel member and staffer at RED, Sean Ruggeri, has posted some video showing the results of using RED’s new optical low pass filter that has been specifically designed for use with the RED DRAGON® sensor to help color correct underwater. Interchangeable optical low pass filters are a new feature on the RED Dragon. The underwater version is called the DSMC® H2O OLPF and has also been designed to work in conjunction with RED’s latest color science, DRAGONcolor2. Sean has commented that opening any RED footage shot on older cameras underwater in DRAGONcolor2 will achieve much better color rendering than was available previously.
