Tracey Jennings has posted her stunning image entitled “Mystical Forest” onto the Wetpixel Facebook Group. It was taken in Simonstown, South Africa in 2014. Tracey tried to shoot from the sand so that she could get as much of the kelp in the frame as possible. She comments that she: “Basically chose my kelp and then waiting for a 7 gill (shark) to swim through.” Post processing was in Lighroom and consisted of removing noise from the image and then converting it to mono by desaturating all color channels except the blue.

Tracey used a Nikon D3s with a Nikkor 16mm f2.8 lens. It was housed in a Seacam housing and the image was lit with Ikelite DS161 strobes. Camera settings were 1/250@f6.3, ISO400. Strobes were at 1/8 to 1/4 power.
