In response to the environmentally devastating effects associated with palm oil production, particularly in Indonesia, the Damai Fleet has announced that it will no longer source or use products that contain the substance.

They state:

“Our response to these threats has been to take a long look at how we do business and what products we stock onboard. We are proud of the fact that we have sourced non-palm oil products for the majority of our kitchen, restaurant and housekeeping needs and feel that we have found solutions that in most cases offer our guests an equal or better service and range than they have experienced before. In a very few cases we have simply made the decision to not offer certain products and we feel that these very small sacrifices will be supported by our guests.”
